A German news magazine called "Fokus" - somewhat similar to the US "Time Magazine" -
is presently doing an online survey of German companies. The magazine is ranking the companies by ranking the Managers/Entrepreneurs of those companies.

So, a vote for Brandstätter is really a vote for Playmobil!

The categories to vote for are:

1. Competence
2. Reliability
3. Stamina
4. Charisma

The lower you rate Brandstätter, the better, meaning that if you rate a 1 (one) "sehr gut" ... this is
equivalent to an A or to the best rating.

Playmobil has asked for our help, so let's show them how strong we really are!

If we can make Playmobil number one in this survey, we will have "leverage" to tell Playmobil what we want as collectors!

This is a great opportunity for us to show our strength. A strong Playmobil community can't be ignored!

As soon as I got the email request from Zirndorf this morning, I sent an email to Bennain asking him to please translate this post into German, but I've not heard back from him.

This is a very important opportunity for us to show Zirndorf how strong our Playmobil community really is!

If we can get Playmobil voted number one, it will send a good message to Geobra. And, we may be able to get some of those things that we've all been asking for.

Martin at Playmofriends has come up with a very reasonable list that I think that we'll be able to get if we have enough votes to make Playmobil number one at Fokus!

Here is Martin's list:

Many of these ideas have been discussed here and elsewhere before, so I consider anything I suggest to have common authorship by the whole Playmobil community.

1) Improve the parts-ordering service by using the best of the German model, and improving everything else so that all ordering goes through the Playmobil website.

2) Allow anybody to order any part that has ever been made, and publish this data monthly on the website - total orders of a part number, and total orders received that month, and orders fulfilled. This can all be automated, so once the system is in place there is no extra work. I think this will promote extra orders as people see the service working and order things they might otherwise not have considered.

3) Get the product into the public eye better at Museums. All Museums have toy shops, and Playmobil should be in those shops. Every collection starts with one set, so every set sold through any channel is a potential sales multiplier.

4) Take advantage of predictable events of worldwide significance (e.g. The 2010 Winter Olympics) to promote the product.

I've voted too, its fun I think and this is no representative list for anything like most votings on the net are, I'd rather see Brandstätter on #1 than Sarrazin
But I'm curious about one thing, what made you start this thing now? This ranking seems to be around for some years allready based on the dates of some comments I read there and it's no deadline or anything mentioned.

Almost ten years ago, the three "Playmosketeers" challenged Zirndorf's wisdom and "right" to close Bart de Smet's new "Playmobil Central" website (now Collectobil) and to prevent Playmobil dealers from selling on-line. At that time there were only three websites featuring Playmobil. Two new sites, "Playmobil Central" and Oliver Deeg's Playmobil website (now "Playfans"). And, one older website, "Garden Wargaming". (This April ... next month, Garden Wargaming will celebrate 14 years as the first Playmobil website on the world wide interweb!)

Needless to say, Purifa, over fourteen years, we have established a wonderful rapport with Geobra!





Zirndorf asked me if I would vote for Playmobil at the Fokus survey.

It was my idea to extend the opportunity to help Playmobil to Klickywelt and to all the other Playmobil Community forums!

I hope that I have answered your questions and that you will support, the greatest product in the world, by helping to make Playmobil number one at Fokus!
